The cottage, surrounded by sky, trees, and water, is clean and simple with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances (microwave, stove, fridge, coffeemaker, toaster). The barbecue awaits you on the giant front deck. The deck juts out to the edge of the lake, with views to the south, east, and west. Water for the washroom and kitchen come straight from the lake, which is very clean, though you should bring your own drinking water anyway. You won't hear any cars or highway noise and the neighbours are really out of sight.
Anstruther lake is a big, very clean, and relatively undeveloped lake with lots of coves, and natural shoreline to explore and watch sunsets from. Most of the cottages on the lake are modest and set back from the water in the trees. The cottage and the lake is surrounded by Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park. The shoreline is weed-free and deep--up to 120 feet. From Anstruther, one can go on MANY different canoe trips, either for the day or overnight. There are many kilometers of hiking trails accessible from behind the cottage as well. There is one marina on the lake and its 7 minutes away, with groceries, gas, water, and other services. You can find banks, an IGA, LCBO, etc in the quaint village of Apsley which is a 10 minute drive from the marina.
The cottage is BOAT ACCESS. You can get there by water taxi from the marina, canoe, bring your own boat, or arrange a rental. Your car can be left in our parking space at the marina. For directions, boat rentals, and other info, check out anstruthermarina.com
